Who we are

Drug-Free World Africa is a non-profit organization founded in 2019 to combat drug abuse in Africa and the rest of the world. Our goal is to educate young people and adults about the dangers and harmful effects of drugs on the body and the psychological and social consequences of drug abuse while promoting drug-free living. Drug addiction is one of the biggest challenges affecting our society today. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), substance abuse is a major public health problem in Africa, with an estimated 14.3 million people suffering from drug use disorders. This number is greatly increasing; if nothing is done, we may have a huge problem soon enough. The UNODC’s 2021 World Drug Report pointed out the connection between lower perception of drug use risks to higher rates of drug use further highlighting the need to close the gap between perception and reality to educate young people and safeguard public health. Hence, Drug-Free World Africa has launched a mission to teach our young teeming population the Truth About Drugs thereby empowering them to make informed decisions and discouraging them from engaging in drugs in the first place. Through a worldwide network of volunteers, the Organization offers a variety of resources, including helplines, educational materials, videos, as well as information on how to get help for drug addiction. We also provide resources and support for individuals and families affected by drug addiction. The organization works with schools, community groups, and other organizations to regularly provide these interventions. Drug-Free World Africa is presently active in more than 12 countries and more than 16 states in Nigeria as of today and is seeking to expand into new territories over the coming year. We are also active online and provide e-learning on Truth About Drugs and preventive engaging activities in your local environment. If you or someone you know is struggling with drug addiction and would like help or more information, you can visit the Drug-Free World Africa website or contact the organization directly for support. No one especially a young person likes to be lectured about what he or she can or cannot do. Hence, we provide the Truth About Drugs empowering youths to make an informed decision, there-by discouraging them to engage in drugs in the first place. Additionally, our Truth About Drugs campaign consists of activities that engage youths which popularize drug-free living. These activities are simple, effective and can involve people of all ages. Through a worldwide network of volunteers, the Organisation uses its materials and activities to help people around Africa to learn about the destructive side effects of drugs and thereby make the decision for themselves to live drug-free-life resulting to a positive and productive life-style. Drug Free World Africa provides e-learning on Truth About Drugs and preventive engaging activities in your local environment.
