DFWA has carried out a sensitization program tackling the dangers of drug abuse and its adverse consequences in Anambra State.
The sensitization which took place on 6th of July at Anambra Broadcasting Service television had Anambra South zonal coordinator, Mrs. Akudo Loretta representing DFWA.
During the morning discussion, Mrs Akudo sighted her experiences through the campaign of 26th June International day against drug abuse held at Nri city town in Anaocha LGA. Of Anambra state.
She said that “1/3 of youths who attended the June 26 event shared the devastating effect of drug abuse in their lives. Their stories had it that the worst state of drug abuse is never to recognize help until it wrecks one’s life.”
Mrs. Akudo therefore pointed out that one of the best ways of stemming more youths from foraying into the sad venture of drug abuse is “through sensitization, adding that in order to accomplish the DFWA objectives, youths must avoid drug abuse.
She further stated that regular interaction with people who are willing to campaign against drug abuse is also a key to achieving the goal of a drug free society.
