THE YOUNG AND THE OLD SHUN DRUG ABUSE

DFWA Kaduna State chapter has recorded many concerned elders who have joined the Campaign against drug abuse in the community. This was announced by Rev Lazarus Terna, Kaduna team representative. The spokesperson of the group, Elder Nuhu has said in unmistakable terms that illicit drugs has killed good number of our young people and made many useless. He pointed out that the number of young men who are mentally deranged has tripled on the street of Nigeria thereby lamenting that our daughters and mothers are no longer safe from the grip of hard drugs. He however stated that the high rate of crime in our society today and high death rate, Prostitution, suicide is all connected to drug abuse and also admitted that things are hard in the country quite alright, but however, abusing drugs won’t make it better. He went further and admonished that the youths be patient and hardworking, that everything will fall into place with time.

DRUG MUST FALL DAY, DFWA VISITS SCHOOL IN KANO STATE

Kano State chapter of DFWA has sensitized the students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Dukawuga in Kano state over illicit use of drugs The sensitization which was held on the 22nd September, 2022 had DFWA speaking on the pitfalls inherent in the use of illicit drugs, like Codin, Fentanyl, Cocaine, Heroin, Methadone, Oxycodone and much more. The State Coordinator Mr. Nura Sani has Stressed that our young Girls should focus on their studies and future in the ultimate and not on Sex or illicit Drugs as such are harmful to their health and dangerous to their future. He pointed out that countless number of girls have pitched tenth with Criminal gangs, some have enrolled into Baby Factory, some into Full-fledged prostitution because of peer pressure and illicit Drugs. Mr. Nura Sani expressed so much regret that many unthinkable diseases are flying all over the place because of the recklessness amongst our youths, particularly our Girls. He concluded by reminding them that they’re the life wire of every civilization, as such they should comport themselves, shun illicit drugs and Premarital Sex.

DFWA FLOATS INTER AFRICAN OFFICE

As mega campaign gathers momentum, DFWA has acquired an Affric central office which is not just large enough but a masterpiece of architecture and very magnificent to behold. The Office which is suited at Plot 15, Road 37, Hafsat Amadu Bello Street, 3rd Avenue, Garimpa Abuja would Serve for conferences and other leadership events and also help in so many other ways. Engr. Chinagorum Nkaru, DFWA president, has made it clear that acquiring that office has marked a water shed in the history of DWFA which in return has attracted a lot of prestige and attention to the Movement as It is unarguably a right step in a right direction. She stated how many People out there have asked questions about how the organization have managed to achieve this much within this period of time of which it could be nothing else but our unity of purpose, hard work and Commitment The president went further to thank all the members of DWFA and partners who have been supporting the organization relentlessly. “The Fight against drug abuse just begun, soon the monster would be defeated, our campaign would be taken to every nook and cranny of the society and we will leave no stone unturned” she said

TRUTH ABOUT DRUGS, LEADERS RIDE ON THE SUCCESS OF THE GREAT WORKSHOP

In order to reexamine and refill, the leaders of DFWA have been tested to be sound and mentally vibrant for the task ahead. The leaders benefited a lot from the workshop as one of the attendees revealed that many things she never knew about health, social life and drugs were exposed to her. She went on to establish that since the end of the workshop, the leaders have gone back to their various field with renewed energy and commitment to ensure the menace of drug abuse is arrested in the nearest possible time. According to the president, Eng. Chinagorum Nkaru, Henceforth, Young people would be encouraged to learn skills and engage their mind with something meaning as hard drugs do not have any good effect on their system.

“TRUTH ABOUT DRUGS” LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP ENGAGING AND EDUCATING THE COMMUNITY ON DANGERS OF DRUGS

DFWA has been spotted educating and sensitizing people on the dangers inherent in the use of hard drugs and why they should be thrown overboard immediately in a leadership workshop. The sensitization which took place on the second day of the “Truth about Drugs” leadership workshop, had leaders of DFWA present in East London Communities at Strafford Station As people were quite friendly and open to be helped, some said they went into drugs due to relationship stress, low self-worth and work stress while some stated how it was due to peer pressure, finance and all what not. The leaders of the organization thanked the people for being friendly and responsive and remedies were proffered on how they can break off the ramshackle of hard drugs. People were made to understand that drugs do not really take away pains but rather distract for a while hence hides them and make it worse of which the best way is to accept the true situation of things and work out modalities on how to overcome particular situation or seek help if necessary.

MEGA MARCH SENSITIZATION: DFWA HOLDS SEMINAR MARCHING AGAINST DRUG ABUSE, MARKING 2ND EDITION OF TRUTH ABOUT DRUGS LEADERSHIP EVENT.

In a bid to fight against drug abuse, DFWA has held a seminar to mark its 2nd Edition of “Truth About Drugs” Leadership event. The topic of the seminar which was tagged “Mega March Against Drug Abuse? Had leaders speaking on the dangers of illicit usage of drugs and the positive impact of massive education awareness towards bridging youths engaging in drug abuse. Hence focusing on Mega March Against Drug Abuse 2022 and beyond. One of the speakers hinted that to achieve a Drug free world, the organization must take one step at a time, and also advised that we must endeavor to find out states with high rate of drug abuse, she further maintained that once these steps has been followed, the battle would be easier. “Awareness on the pitfalls of the use of illicit drugs would be created and that would come in different forms like seminars, Mega marches and a lot more” she said Leaders of DFWA made it Known to everyone that the campaign must be taken to the local areas, where illiteracy is high and the rate of drug abuse very alarming dimension.

DFWA Felicitates with Mavis Amankwah on Her UNA Goodwill Ambassadorial Award

Drug free world Africa has congratulated Mrs. Mavis Amankwah on her UNA goodwill Ambassadorial award which took place at Boat Cruise- Millbank Millennium Pier, Pier 5 London, SW1P 4XL. The organization on 18 August, 2022 featured on the event of Mavis Amankwah’s UNA Goodwill Ambassadorial Award, which as it were was Empowering, Motivating and inspiring. Mavis Amankwah has in no small measure touched countless number of lives, especially that of the youths through her unbridled generosity, benevolence and exceptional brilliance over time. She has been a Voice to the voiceless and given hope to people who have lost hope in life and can suffice to say that she’s simply a trail blazer, who has unarguably written her name in gold. DFWA seized that opportunity to reach out to a pool of nonprofit Organizations, who expressed profound gratitude towards the good work DFWA is doing to rescue and therefore sanitize our Society from the horrid stench drug abuse and its Concomitant implications and went ahead to pledge support for DFWA programs. Drug Free World Africa Unveils “Truth About Drugs” Carnival

DFWA in Collaboration with Drug Free World (DFW) has engaged the youths on a carnival Captioned “Truth About Drugs” in Notting Hill London. The Carnival which took place on August 29, 2022 as it were was garnished with a lot of educative, Inspiring and entertaining programs, ranging from Mega Rallies and Awareness to Lectures, Counselling sessions, as well as talent hunt. During the carnival parade a volunteer lectured, the Speaker who pleaded anonymity insisted that drugs like Tramadol, Coding and among others which are believed to enhance Sexual performances are very dangerous and injurious to the system of the users as they could cause Severe Head Ache, Myalgia/Back Pain, Visual Disturbances, Nasal Congestion and in some extreme Cases Death. The Speaker equally forewarned the youths of the dangers associated with drugs which are intended to make people work tirelessly or become high, as those drugs could at best leave its victims with various dimensions of cardiac issues and at worst fasten the victim’s step to his/her grave. He ended by saying that youth can always enjoy their lives to the fullest without engaging into drug abuse. The program which was not Just rich, but historic as Londoners enjoy a festive carnival made huge impact as countless number of Youths vowed never to abuse Drugs again and many volunteered to join in the campaign against drug abuse.

Passionate Youths in Ghana Shun Drug Abuse

DFWA Ghana has encouraged its youths to find passion in sports life rather than engaging in hard drugs and illicit usage of drugs. The country member Mr. Johnson Gameh Kportufe at Afrobank Championship enjoined the youths to channel their energy to sports like football, basketball, tennis, Boxing and among others instead of idling around as an idle mind is a Devil’s Workshop. Mr Kporfe Reminded them that men like Cristiano Ronaldo, Floyd May weather and Michael Jordan all became billionaires through sports, and went on to say that lack of interest amongst the youths in sports especially our local leagues has gone a long way to relegate Africa to a disadvantaged position globally. He stressed the need why the youths should shun drug abuse which has as it were increased crime rate and plunged many of our youths into regrettable, yet avoidable health conditions.

DFWA Strengthens Partnership With British Alliance

In a bid to fight Drug abuse, DWFA on August 14, 2022 has consolidated partnership with British Africa Business Alliance (BABA). The partnership was Precipitated by the unparalleled, yet regrettable rate of drug abuse in Imo state and the country at large. DFWA and BABA has decided to demolish this monster (Drug Abuse) ravaging the lives of our youths by attracting firms to Imo state which will in turn create Job opportunities and create room for skill acquisition therefore engaging the youths positively. From the organization’s findings, it was realized that the high rate of drug abuse in IMO state is not unconnected to high rate of unemployment in the state which has given room to a lot criminal actions among the youths. The youths of Imo state lately have been feasting on drugs like Codin, Shisha, Tramadol, Crysta meth which in our common Parlance is called “Mkpuru Mmiri”, that has killed many young men and women, and has made many to go knot. DFWA finally vowed to stop at nothing in her battle to flush out drug abuse in Imo State and Nigeria at Large.
