DFWA Oyo sensitizes students on dangers of drug abuse

DFWA Oyo state chapter joins the campaign against drug abuse and the war against illicit use of harmful substances. This was made evident as the team led the campaign against drug abuse to schools in the state. The campaign took place on the 4th of May 2022 as team members came out in their numbers to see the success of the outreach which was held in Ibarapa Central School, Oyo State, Nigeria. Speaking to newsmen, the deputy representative of DFWA Oyo State Chapter, BAAKI ADEWALE stated that the campaign was prompted by the bid to catch the younger generations.  “campaign against drugs and the bid to catch them young is a must in every state, nation, and the world at large. The Oyo state chapter of DFWA has taken today to visit schools and spread the gospel of a society void of drug abuse or illicit use of drugs to these children, if we don’t catch them young, then when can we?” drugs will do, he said The sensitization on the campaign on the dangers of drug abuse had different schools around the state in attendance as the students were delighted to have such a gathering. Effects of drugs were dramatized by the presenter and students through the drama understood the dangers of drug abuse and vowed never to take or do drugs. Students who were in attendance asked questions concerning the subject matter and the event was brought to a wrap with Students sharing their experiences and declaring war against drug abuse.

DFWA Support Victims Affected by Ukraine War

While DFWA is known for fighting drug abuse in society, the organization has taken a further step to help resettle victims of the war in Ukraine.  According to the president of the organization Engr. Chinagorum Nkaru, the effort to resettle victims of the war in Ukraine will help motivate the beneficiaries to live the life they have always wanted.  DFWA focused on two siblings who were keeping safe in the Hungarian capital Budapest while waiting for a British Visa.  The two youths according to Engr. Nkaru has supported many of their friends to settle in different countries but had difficulties in getting a British visa.  “DFWA remembers and works with youths anywhere they are to cheer them up and give them hope to keep positive and never take drugs as an alternative to their problems” Engr, C. Nkaru stated that the siblings were taken to gig parties to help them have fun and think positive for a better future as DFWA was up to help them. “They were taken to gig parties, City sightseeing, shopping, and boat cruise, which they enjoyed and cherished every single moment. They promised never to think of drugs as an alternative” “They had a moment to think and live without problems. It was an unended joy of expression, as every little help to keep soul and body together helps save a life. DFWA has vowed to continually support them to pursue their visa through different embassies till they get resettled.

DFWA commemorates Muslims on EID-EL-FITR

DFWA commemorates Muslim Faithful all over the world on the occasion of their EID-EL-FITR celebration with a message of drug abstinence.  The end of the fast period was utilized by DFWA to send a drug-free world message and educate Muslims on drug abuse and its dangers to human health.  The team emphasized that EID-EL-FITR is a time to deal with unwillingness and see to the eradication of illegal use of drugs.  According to Engr. Chinagorum, it is important to educate the young’s on “Truth About Drugs” to make them enjoy peace from Allah. She urged everyone to say no to drug abuse because it does more harm than good to any individual involved and kills eventually.  DFWA Team urged youths and others involved in drug-related crimes to remember the fast and essence of EID-EL-FITR and say no to drug abuse.  The team prayed that this special day brings peace, and happiness to all Muslim faithful and everyone at large, Wishing them Allah’s peace and joy in their lives as they mark this occasion.

DFWA partners Deeproot International Academy to Celebrate Children’s Day

Deeproot International Academy through her Eco Heroes Club has partnered with DFWA to speak to children about drug abuse. The outing which was held on the 28th of May,2022 at Government Secondary School, EdibeEdibe, Calabar south started with a friendly match among the schools. DFWA Cross River State Rep Dr. Hannah Etta Said the partnership was to mark the 2022 Children’s Day Activities and to unite the children, it was a means for the children to showcase their talent and creativity through sports (Football) and other activities. She further stated that DFWA is committed to raising the banner of a drug-free world high at all times and by all given means. Stating that speaking to these kids at a younger age is the best that could happen to the world at large, as their good and healthy living is a plus to the society. DFWA partnering, brought the drug-free world gospel to these kids even as they had fun celebrating their day. They were taught the dangers of drug abuse and the consequences of the illicit use of drugs, the event had about 50 children in attendance. The event was a colorful one as other activities iced the children’s day celebration.

Give us books not drugs campaign held in Liberia

DFWA held a drug-free world campaign in Bomi County Liberia on the  29th of April 2022 with the tag give us books and not drugs. The campaign in Bomi county was headed by Darius Nimely who is the DFWA representative in the state. The campaign had boys and girls of school ages with placards in the streets demanding to be given books and not drugs. The colorful outing drew the attention of the community leaders who came close to understanding what was happening and getting the message and declared the campaign a welcome development. Montserrado county dressed in colorful clothes the colorful dressing of the Montserrado county was pioneered by Grace G.Gweh. The kids were excited for the help of DFWA in the state to eradicate drug abuse and other unhealthy social vices which hinder the growth of children in all ramifications.

DFWA celebrates mothers and sends a strong message to them across the globe

DFWA sends a strong message to mothers all over the globe as they celebrate their day.  The celebration which took place on the 24th of April 2022 according to the serval Christian calendar, was an international affair. DFWA celebrating mothers described them as pillars of every home, society, and the nation at large and as such have a responsibility for child upbringing and fight against drug abuse. This year`s celebration was specially dedicated to a team member who took to the group to celebrate his mom. Charles Anwah Oseji wrote, “My sweet mom. Owelle Nnem🙏In this world, you were the only person who has always loved me unconditionally and guided me through life without Drug Abuse” DFWA celebrated Other mothers in the team and urged them to carry on good works and never back out in the fight against drug abuse. Giving the closing remarks Engr. Chinagorum Nkaru, president of DFWA, advised mothers to take the gospel of a drug-free world to their homes and help eradicate drug abuse.

DFWA is set to be inaugurated  in Abuja soon

A mega million man march (M4) is set to take place in Abuja soon to join in the fight against the illicit use of drugs in the country as the inaugural march of DFWA. In a conference held on the 19th of April 2022, DFWA discussed how to initiate a Mega Million Man March in the federal capital territory soon. The team said the march is going to be one of its kind as it will draw all men out of their closest to have one voice to stop drug abuse in Africa. The vision of the organization is to see a drug-free world and has therefore taken meaningful steps to see to the accomplishment of this vision statement. The initial committee of the conceptual project was instituted and headed by Mr. Emmanuel Ngoka, who has asked team members and the public to stay tuned for the deadlines of the march soon, a march to mark the presence of DFWA in Africa.

Brixton joins the campaign against drug abuse

DFWA Brixton joins the campaign against drug abuse and the war against illicit use of harmful substances. The campaign took place on the streets of Brixton London on the 18th of April 2022 as team members came out in their numbers to see to the success of the outreach. Speaking to members of the press, the team stated that the campaign was prompted by the high rate of drug addiction on the streets of Brixton. “Brixton recording high on street drugs attracted the action of Drug Free World and Drug Free World Africa with teams to engage on station street campaign against drug abuse” led by Tracey Corman, the Anti- Drug  Lead Trainer DFW. About 1,400 Booklets on “the truth about drugs” were shared with the audience who were all in the street of Brixton, while 90 shops were visited with the gospel of drug-free world. Individuals who were in their homes were not left out of the campaign as 70 houses were reached and 30 chats with participants on how street drugs affect the mind and body. The team was happy and fulfilled as their gospel was taken seriously by the street and homes visited in the vicinity.

DFWA sends a drug-free world message to Christians as they celebrate Easter

The Christians were further admonished to allow good Friday to bring the magic sparkle of a good life and asked for divine strength to break the addiction. Continuing in the spirit of the Easter celebration, DFWA summed the Easter message with an online seminar tagged “FREE FROM DRUG ABUSE” The seminar which was held on the 16th of April 2022 was a zoom meeting and had in attendance pastor Rukky Ayi and Dr. Etta Hannah as guest speakers in the event. Participants were thought the effects of alcohol use and abuse. Dr. Ettah stated that alcohol stirs up aggressive behavior like violence, homicide, suicide e.t.c Participants tabled their questions to the speakers as 5 youths gave up on drug abuse after the seminar. DFWA Team urged youths and others involved in drug-related crimes to remember the death of Jesus which was for their salvation and say no to drug abuse. The team emphasized that Easter is a time to overcome addiction and draw strength from the power in the life of Christ. DFWA urged everyone to say no to drug abuse because it does more harm than good to any individual involved and kills eventually.
